BACKGROUND

Pooky is a British-based lighting company known for its stylish and distinctive lighting fixtures and home accessories. Pooky was founded by Rohan Blacker in 2014. The company aims to offer unique and affordable lighting solutions, and its products often feature a blend of classic and contemporary design elements.

Ahead of their 10th anniversary this year, Pooky decided to expand into the US market in 2023 after identifying huge opportunities for growth. However, as the UK is an established market, and Pinterest is a key driver for sales, a strategic review of the platform and its current strategies was needed to refresh and reinvigorate its organic performance.

OUR SOLUTION

Pooky already had a presence on Pinterest in the UK, though organic growth had remained largely inactive for some time. With the brand expanding into the US market and paid advertising already contributing to growth in the UK, it became essential to establish a cohesive strategy for organic engagement across both markets.

By developing bespoke strategies across the US and UK markets, Pooky saw significant growth in organic traffic to their website from Pinterest.

We also saw several pins go ‘viral’. In the UK, a pin dedicated to an over-the-sink- light has seen 56.62k Impressions and nearly 300 engagements to date. In the US, Their Portobello table lamp (UK) for example saw a 99% increase over a 30-day period, which can predominantly be attributed to our dedicated pin. The pin itself has 121.62k Impressions, and over 650 engagements.

Christina and Eleonora have been wonderful to work with. They have been proactive in coming up with ideas and following up on any issues with the Pinterest platform—whether directly with the Pinterest team or our in-house team here at Pooky.

Communication has been open, honest, and timely. They’ve also been brilliant at knowledge sharing and supporting our in-house team in getting the most out of the platform.
